Hewlett Packard Enterprise CEO gets US$35.6m for fiscal 2016

Total value of her pay package has doubled from prior year when she orchestrated a split from sister company

HEWLETT Packard Enterprise Co chief executive officer Meg Whitman got US$35.6 million in compensation for fiscal 2016 after leading efforts to pare down her company amid growing competition from cloud-based service providers.

Ms Whitman, 60, got stock options worth US$11.7 million, some of which are tied to share price goals, for the year ended Oct 31, according to a regulatory filing on Monday. She also got restricted shares worth US$19 million that will be hers if she remains on the job till 2018 and meets certain performance targets.
