Homegrown fintech is first Asian startup to win funding from Wells Fargo

HOMEGROWN fintech startup Jewel Paymentech has won up to US$500,000 in funding from Wells Fargo, making it the first Asian startup to be backed by the American financial services company through its accelerator programme.
Jewel, a provider of intelligent risk solutions for the banking and electronics payments industry, and whose clients include the largest banks in South-east Asia, said on Wednesday that it will join the San Francisco-based bank's Spring 2016 accelerator programme starting this month.
