HP eyes growth with service and innovation
IT giant, which has been trying to revamp its strategy and streamline operations, is confident it's turned the corner in devices sales, reports AMIT ROY CHOUDHURY

THE world's biggest IT company by revenue and No 2 personal computer (PC) vendor, Hewlett-Packard (HP), is confident that it has turned the corner as far as devices sales go. Ever since it lost its No 1 slot to Lenovo several quarters ago, the US behemoth has been trying to revamp its strategy and streamline operations of its devices business.
It seems to be working. HP's Nick Lazaridis, the company's top devices man in Asia-Pacific including Japan (APJ), notes that in consumer sales the company has turned the corner.
Giving a broad perspective, he says: "We were behind two years ago but we have caught up. The way we are going to win is by offering end-to-end solutions.
"No single competitor offers the breadth of solutions that we offer from computers to servers and systems. Our differentiator is our services offering and partner network.
