Information-rich smart screens coming to HDBs
Singapore
AS part of the Smart Nation initiative, the government is piloting a plan to set up smart screens in HDB blocks. These screens will provide relevant information to residents, such as traffic conditions in the neighbourhood, bus timings, weather reports and community news.
Disclosing this at the opening day of the two-day IoT Asia forum in Singapore on Wednesday, Minister for Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan, who is also the Minister in charge of Singapore's Smart Nation Programme, said that this is not just about technology or TV. "This is about using technology at the local level in a relevant and pertinent way to help build local communities."
