BIOPHARMACEUTICAL company MerLion Pharmaceuticals is the first homegrown company to have its new novel drug approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), paving the way for it to be commercially available to treat ear infections.
This follows Phase 3 trials of finafloxacin otic suspension in treating acute otitis externa, which is an infection in the outer ear and ear canal and is commonly known as "swimmer's ear".
