Samsung goes big with Galaxy S8 phones

    SAMSUNG launched its Galaxy S8 smartphone in Singapore on Thursday, following last year's launch of its ill-fated Samsung Note 7.

    The new phones are notably larger. The smaller S8's screen measures 14.7 cm, and that for the S8+, 15.7cm. (The S7's screen was 12.9 cm, and the S7 Edge, 13.9 cm.) The S8 phones remain thin and lightweight, and are barely thicker or heavier than the S7 phones.
