THOSE who consider Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 tablet PC expensive overkill may find that the smaller and cheaper Surface 3 hits the sweet spot.
The device is the first entry-level Surface to run the full Windows operating system. Previous models ran Windows RT, which was only compatible with the tiniest handful of apps.
