HEALTHCARE is a key concern for the government, given Singapore's ageing population. Chee Hong Tat, Minister of State for Health, recently noted that Singapore's rapid ageing poses twin challenges: higher demand for healthcare and aged care, and a slowdown in labour force growth.
Technology can help to improve productivity and provide better and more affordable care. The Infocomm Media 2025 Masterplan envisages using technology to help patients access healthcare from the comfort of their homes. This includes wearables which send health information to caregivers in hospitals and clinics remotely.
