But when it comes to gadgets, it's often the little devices that have the greatest mystique.

One of the strongest sellers from Brookstone, the retailer with 50 shops in more than 25 major airports, is a US$450 projector that's about the size of a McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sandwich.
