Up to 20 food centres to have new contactless payment offerings by this year
Nets - Singapore's dominant payment network provider - on Sunday said it plans to wire another 10 to 20 food centres here for contactless payments this year. This was announced at the official opening of the Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre, which offers this service.
With contactless payment, users can wave their cards at a payment terminal, which will detect the card details, and clear the transaction. Last year, Nets installed contactless payment terminals at Beo Crescent Market & Food Centre and Clementi 448 Market & Food Centre.
