Apple says maintaining strong encryption is aimed at enhancing customer security

AMERICAN lawmakers on Tuesday pressed FBI director James B Comey about the bureau's demands that Apple help it unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino attackers.
The US Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation have tried to cast the issue as narrowly focused on one iPhone, but Mr Comey acknowledged that if the government succeeds in this case, it could set a precedent for others.
