[SINGAPORE] Most Singaporeans are always connected to the World Wide Web either via their smartphones or through broadband. The Internet has become the first choice for consuming news, entertainment and for social connectivity.

It's little wonder then that companies are increasingly moving their advertisement spend to the Web. Singapore's Internet advertising market revenue is expected to be worth US$183 million this year. From US$162 million last year, this is going to grow to US$264 million by 2018 - that's a compound annual growth of 10.3 per cent.

For context, during this period, traditional newspaper advertising revenue will grow from US$788 million in 2013 to US$905 million in 2018. While the absolute numbers are higher, the CAGR (compound annual growth rate) is 2.8 per cent. TV advertising, meanwhile, will grow with a CAGR of 3.8 per cent, taking the 2018 total to US$456 million.
