Budget device for multiple health tests
[SINGAPORE] For years, patients here have had to contend with long waits, considerably high costs and non-comprehensive health tests when they seek medical care. But these pains may soon be a thing of the past, according to Michael Tan, co-founder of Singapore health start-up BioSenze.
He says help will come in the form of BioSenze's do-it-yourself diagnostic kit, which will allow patients to administer up to 200 common health tests from the comfort of their own homes, using their blood, urine or saliva samples.
These tests include those for top-of-mind diseases such as hand, foot & mouth, dengue fever and tuberculosis, as well as the measuring of regular glucose and cholesterol levels, and even one's daily platelet count.
