Canadian fund to invest more of its assets in Asia
OTPP has worked with Temasek, GIC in the past: CEO
[SINGAPORE] The Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTPP) aims to invest more of its assets in Asia, with an eye on private investments in particular.
The fund had about C$140 billion (S$160 billion) in assets at the end of last year. It has invested an estimated C$12.5 billion in Asia since 1991. Of this, public markets account for about 65 per cent.
Said OTPP chief executive Ron Mock: "We've been investing in Asia for a very long time . . . We believe it's a critically important part of our portfolio growth in the future."
