CDCs urged to get private sector involved
The councils need to marshal resources in the wider community, says PM Lee

SINGAPORE'S Community Development Councils (CDCs) need to marshal resources in the wider community, such as from the private sector and volunteer groups, to better serve the country.
"The government cannot, and should not, do everything. The community, too, must support one another," said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong yesterday at a swearing-in ceremony for the five mayors who serve as the chairmen of the CDCs.
Three of them - Teo Ho Pin, Teo Ser Luck and Mohamad Maliki Osman - were re-appointed for another three-year term until May 2017…
