Details of Malaysia Airlines overhaul expected on Friday

[KUALA LUMPUR] Details of Malaysia Airlines' (MAS) complete overhaul are expected to be disclosed on Friday, a day after the national carrier releases its second-quarter results.

MAS was originally scheduled to release its second-quarter results on Aug 19.

Parent Khazanah Nasional Bhd is expected to outline extensive plans that will be "painful" but necessary to bring the ailing carrier back to profitability, Malaysia's Business Times quoted sources as saying.

The revamp plan will most likely include key changes to its senior management as well as cuts in jobs and capacity routes, the sources said.
