SINGAPORE-based German businesses, worried about the lack of skilled labour here, welcome the government's efforts to grow the technical workforce and are ready to step forward to help plug the shortfall in this type of skilled labour.
A business-climate survey by the Singaporean-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGC) released on Friday has found that 67 per cent of German companies polled have found it difficult to find trained technical staff here - both university-educated technical staff and vocational-level staff.
