NTUC aims for breakthrough in raising wages
Its goal is to raise earnings of 100,000 low-wage workers
[SINGAPORE] The labour movement will have a very busy year ahead.
With only a year to go before the deadline for its 2015 vision of "Better Jobs for All", "Labour Movement for All" and "Tripartism for All", the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) will push to make 2014 "a breakthrough" year for low-wage workers in its battle to raise their pay.
NTUC will also push to bring in more professionals, managers and executives (PMEs) into its fold and extend tripartism from the national level down to industries, according to labour chief Lim Swee Say.
