THE unemployment level in Singapore crept up in the first quarter of the year, although there were fewer retrenchments compared to the previous quarter.
According to preliminary figures released by the Manpower Ministry (MOM) yesterday, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate went up to 2.1 per cent in March, compared to 1.8 per cent last December.
