PLANE-maker Airbus is keen to invest in urban air mobility and other projects in Singapore as the group increases its focus on innovation and new technologies.

"A company like us cannot miss the trend towards autonomous vehicles, towards electric propulsion for flying vehicles," Airbus chief executive Tom Enders told The Business Times. "We're doing a lot around the world from Silicon Valley to Singapore and Europe. By 2025 or so, autonomous air transport and electrical(ly)-propelled air transport will be a reality, probably first in big cities." Singapore and cities in China are likely candidates, he reckons.
