Airbus, SIAEC to offer maintenance training services in Singapore
Planemaker Airbus and SIA Engineering Company (SIAEC) have entered into an agreement to provide maintenance and engineering training services for Airbus aircraft in Singapore.
Under the agreement, SIAEC will use Airbus standards, tools and techniques to provide aircraft manufacturer-backed maintenance training capabilities to its personnel and to third party personnel in the region.
In addition, SIAEC Training Academy will be equipped with Airbus' newest maintenance training devices and courseware for aircraft families such as the A320/A330, A380 and the new A350. As a result, the training Academy will be able to take on contractual training for Airbus customers.
William Tan, chief executive of SIAEC, said: "The appointment of SIAEC's Training Academy as an Airbus Maintenance Training Centre further strengthens our comprehensive service offerings to airlines in the region."
Didier Lux, head of Airbus customer services, added: "We are delighted to extend our business relationship with SIAEC, and we look forward to contributing Airbus' inherent training know-how for enhanced commercial aviation maintenance and engineering proficiency throughout the region."
