Bedok's new integrated transport hub will open on Nov 30
THE new 1.6-hectare Bedok Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) will begin operations on Nov 30, with the temporary Bedok bus interchange to cease operations on the same day.
The Bedok ITH is one of the bigger bus interchanges in Singapore with 29 bus services calling at the bus interchange, the Land Transport Authority said. The new interchange is expected to benefit about 40,000 commuters daily. The Bedok ITH will have 10 boarding and five alighting berths.
Aside from being linked to Bedok Mall, the interchange has 400 square metres of commercial space.
The Bedok ITH is the seventh ITH where the bus interchange and MRT station are linked with adjacent commercial developments. Another three ITHs are under development at Joo Koon, Bukit Panjang and Yishun. These will open between 2015 and 2018.
