Changi Airport passengers up 4.6% in May to 5 million
SINGAPORE Changi Airport reported five million passenger movements in May, 4.6 per cent higher than in the same period last year, Changi Airport Group said a media release.
Aircraft movements rose 3.2 per cent to 31,200 landings and take-offs, while cargo shipments rose 12.6 per cent to reach 177,340 tonnes.
In May, passenger traffic was boosted by a 17 per cent growth in South Asia traffic. India led the gainers with a 21 per cent year-on-year growth; with traffic to and from Mumbai and Chennai rising by more than 20 per cent.
China passenger traffic grew by 11 per cent to more than half a million passengers in May.
