Changi Airport's T4 all set for launch on Oct 31
AIRPORT operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) carried out a full dress rehearsal for Terminal 4 as it readied the terminal to open its doors on Oct 31.
The rehearsal - which involved 1,500 airport staff, tenants and participants - included final systems checks and tests by airlines, commercial tenants, ground handling companies and other airport stakeholders.
A fire evacuation exercise, as well as the transfer of assets and equipment, was also carried out, said CAG in a release. Meanwhile, the two-storey terminal has gone through all the necessary inspections and audits by the relevant agencies. The Singapore Civil Defence Force, for instance, has declared T4 to be safe for occupancy.
Nine airlines will move into T4 progressively over a one-week span, with the first arrival flight, Cathay Pacific CX659, expected to touch down at 5.40am next Tuesday.
Since October 2016, trials, training sessions and workshops have been carried out for the staff who will be working at T4.
