LONDON'S Heathrow airport could attract flights from 30 new airlines including discount operators such as EasyJet plc if it wins approval for a third runway, the hub's chief executive officer John Holland-Kaye said.

"It's a logical thing for them to want to come into Heathrow at some point," he said less than two weeks after EasyJet backed the hub's expansion in preference to London Gatwick, the main base of Europe's No 2 low-cost carrier. "This shows that whatever the future, Heathrow is the right solution."
