GrabTaxi, Didi Kuadi, Ola and Lyft in global rideshare partnership

GRABTAXI, Didi Kuadi, Ola and Lyft will form a global rideshare partnership to roll out joint partner products across South-east Asia (SEA), China, India and the US in Q1 2016.

The four will collaborate to allow international travellers to "seamlessly" access local on-demand rides by using the same app they use at home, they announced on Friday.

Each company will handle mapping, routing and payments through a secure API, and leverage one another's technology, local market knowledge and business resources.

GrabTaxi is reportedly SEA's leading ride-booking platform with up to 1.5 million daily bookings across six countries. Didi Kuaidi provides seven million rides a day across 360 Chinese cities, while Ola does over a million bookings a day in more than 100 cities in India. Lyft is said to be the fastest-growing rideshare service in the US, completing more than seven million rides a month in over 190 cities.

This latest partnership is an extension of the global rideshare agreement Lyft and Didi Kuaidi had formed in September.

On Friday, rival Uber is reported to be looking to raise some US$2.1 billion in a financing round that would value the company at US$62.5 billion.
