[SINGAPORE] Lloyd's Register has opened a Global Technology Centre (GTC) research lab and energy-drilling training academy here to develop cutting-edge technology and alleviate the talent crunch in the oil and gas sector.
Supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB) and A*Star, the GTC is expected to have £35 million of investments and 150 staff by 2017.
It has a number of commercially viable applications and bespoke technical solutions under incubation and will be partnering local research centres at the National University of Singapore (NUS) and the Nanyang Technological University (NTU).
