LTA awards S$948m contracts to build 3 Thomson-East Coast Line stations
THE Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Monday it has awarded three civil contracts for the construction of Tanjong Rhu, Katong Park and Marine Terrace stations along the Thomson-East Coast Line with a total value of around S$948 million.
Construction works for the contracts are expected to start by the first quarter of 2016 and targeted to be completed in 2023.
All the firms that were awarded the contracts have had prior experience with the construction of train tunnels and stations in Singapore.
The construction of the Tanjong Rhu station and its associated tunnels has been awarded to a joint venture between Bachy Soletanche Singapore and Wai Fong Construction for about S$294 million, while Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Co will build the Katong Park station and its associated tunnels at a contract sum of S$293 million.
The construction of the Marine Terrace station and its associated tunnels has been awarded to a joint venture between Ssangyong Engineering & Construction and Hyundai Engineering & Construction for S$361 million.
