LTA calls tenders for 10km of railway noise barriers
SINGAPORE'S Land Transport Authority (LTA) is calling a tender to install 10 kilometres of railway noise barriers at 20 locations on elevated train tracks along the North-South and East-West MRT lines.
LTA expects to award the tenders by the third quarter of the year, with on-site installation to begin from mid-2018 and completion by 2020.
This set of tenders will mark the second phase of LTA's noise barrier installation programme. About 8.5km of noise barriers at 16 locations have already been completed as at end-2016 as part of the first phase, with another 3km at nine locations to be finished by 2018.
