MPA taps tech to manage traffic, safety
Singapore
THE local port regulator has inked a two-year partnership with tech firm IBM to develop and test new data analytics technologies that can help the port here, one of the busiest in the world, deal with increasingly heavier vessel traffic.
Estimating that there were roughly 1,000 vessels calling at the Port of Singapore at any given moment, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said in a press release on Monday that its research collaboration with IBM will ease potential traffic congestion and raise safety standards at Singapore's port.
