New York City's La Guardia Airport to be completely rebuilt

Facility is dilapidated and plagued by passenger delays; redevelopment to cost US$4b

So far this year, it has ranked last among the US' 29 largest airports in terms of number of on-time departures.

LA Guardia Airport, the dilapidated terminals and record of traveller delays of which have made it the butt of jokes and complaints for decades, will be completely rebuilt by 2021, Vice-President Joe Biden and Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Monday.
