Norway-bound Air France returns to Paris after captain falls ill
[PARIS] An Air France plane flying from Paris to the Norwegian city of Stavanger had to turn back mid-way Tuesday after the captain fell ill, an airport source said.
Flight AF1746 landed at Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport at 8:10 pm (1910 GMT), 37 minutes after take-off, an Air France spokeswoman said.
"There was a medical emergency on board and the crew decided to return to Paris," she said.
"The captain felt a pain in his thorax and preferred not to continue the flight. The plane returned to Paris and the co-pilot handled the landing," an airport source added.
The source said the captain was attended to by medics immediately on arrival.
