Passenger traffic growth slows in March: Iata
But for Q1, air traffic grew 5.6% compared to growth of 5.2% for 2013
GLOBAL air passenger traffic growth eased to 3.1 per cent year-on-year in March, slowing from February when traffic rose 5.6 per cent.
Global capacity (measured in available seat-kilometres) expanded at a faster pace of 5.3 per cent, pushing load factor down to 79 per cent, according to data from the International Air Transport Association (Iata).
Still, global air traffic has grown by 5.6 per cent for the first quarter of this year, which is stronger than the overall growth of 5.2 per cent registered for 2013 as a whole.
