Qatar Airways 'suffering' from low yields, says CEO

Carrier to apply for patents for new products introduced to its planes; eyes investment in 2 more airlines

“Many of the concepts . . . were copied by other airlines. So we’ve decided now that we will get a patent on all new products that we are putting in our airplanes,” said Mr Al Baker.


THE chief of Qatar Airways said that the Qatari national carrier is "suffering" from low yields amid a global oil price rout, as he outlined ways that the carrier is strengthening its market position.
