Ridesharing faces more regulations as popularity increases

THE type of "taxi" service in which citizens use private cars to transport passengers continues to spread overseas, but many problems have emerged. In Asian countries where the market is rapidly expanding, regulations are being strengthened.

Called "ridesharing," this type of private taxi business took off in the United States around 2010, and is now spreading throughout Asia and Europe.
