SIA to take delivery of eleven A350s this year
This will allow it to grow network, add new destinations after a period of little expansion on its long-haul routes
Toulouse
SINGAPORE Airlines (SIA) will take delivery of 11 A350s this calendar year, which will allow it to grow its network and add new destinations after a period of little expansion on its long-haul routes.
"This version will allow us to serve thinner routes directly from Singapore to long-haul destinations," said chief executive Goh Choon Phong, speaking to media in Toulouse. "In the last few years, SIA itself hasn't grown that much in terms of long-haul destinations. But with the A350, with its fuel efficiencies and cabin (being) ideal for mid-size operations, we'll now begin to see (the option) of opening up the network to more long haul. That will add to the competitiveness of the network."
