Small car COE premium rises
STOCK markets may have plunged on Wednesday but certificate of entitlement (COE) premiums did not.
In the first bidding exercise for the new quota period from November 2016 to January 2017, Category A - for cars below 1,600cc or 130hp - rose S$1,677 to S$52,668 although Cat B - for cars above 1,600cc or 130hp - slipped just S$204 to S$56,206.
Cat E - the open category - was also slightly lower, down S$340 to S$56,000.
Meanwhile, Cat C - for goods vehicles - jumped S$2,412 to S$48,001 and Cat D - for motorcycles - shed S$43 to S$6,311.
