S'pore, US agree on mutual customs fast-track clearance
SINGAPORE Customs and the US Customs and Border Protection have agreed to fast-track clearance for certified companies from both countries, according to an official statement.
Singapore exporters to the US that have been certified by Singapore customs will enjoy faster customs clearance of their goods. Likewise, US companies exporting to Singapore that have been certified by the US Customs and Border Protection will have their exports cleared faster when the goods arrive in Singapore.
Both countries have also inked a mutual assistance agreement to exchange information and render assistance in preventing and investigating customs offences.
In a statement, Advanced Micro Devices (S) senior supply chain manager Suhana Mohd Ali-Ten welcomed the agreements. "AMD will greatly benefit as time-sensitive shipments will be able to proceed with ease through expedited release at the point of importation," she said.
