Takata falls as 10th death leads to airbag recall expansion
Osaka
TAKATA Corp fell to the lowest in almost seven years after its US regulator said recalls of the company's airbags would expand to millions more vehicles following a 10th death linked to the devices. The shares declined 11 per cent to 601 yen as at 10.42am in Tokyo trading, headed for the lowest price since March 2009.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Friday announced the company faced another two recalls covering five million airbag inflators after a ninth US death involving Takata components.
