Transport strategy prepares way for new technology

PRIVATE cars will start to go the way of horse carriages in as little as 15 years, and be replaced by driverless pods that can be summoned by a mobile device.
Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan offered this scenario during the Committee of Supply (COS) debate on Tuesday, when he mapped out Singapore's transport strategy in 2030.
