US fines 3 airlines for breaking rules on consumer protection

FRONTIER Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines have been fined for violating US Transportation Department airline consumer protection rules, the department said.

Frontier Airlines was fined US$400,000 for violating oversales and disability rules, American Airlines US$250,000 for failing to make timely refunds to passengers, and Delta Air Lines US$200,000 for filing inaccurate baggage reports, the department said.
