Volkswagen strong enough to cope with emission scandal, says CEO
Tokyo
VOLKSWAGEN may be suffering from the diesel scandal now but the German carmaker is confident it can overcome this with the group's financial and human resources.
"We recognise we have a serious problem - more than 10 million engines affected. We have to deal with 10 million customers, we have to make them happy again, we have to rebuild trust," said Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Car Brand. "But I am also saying the brand and the company are strong enough to overcome this crisis and to cope with it and even accelerate the process of change and product investment even more."
