VOLKSWAGEN of America on Thursday reported that its sales were flat in September, its first monthly sales report since the emissions cheating scandal that has engulfed the company became public about two weeks ago.
The carmaker said it sold 145 more vehicles overall, up 0.56 per cent. Analysts were cautious in predicting whether the company could sustain sales numbers in future months because consumers were already showing signs of shying away from the brand.
