Hunting for treasure

ONE of Syed Yousuff's achievements as the energy manager of MSD International in Singapore was leading and conducting an Energy Treasure Hunt in November 2013.

The novel event was the first-of-its-kind in Singapore, and the objectives were to reduce cost, drive reductions in energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and improve efficiency. This involved teams performing in-depth site investigations, documenting and making wastage visible, eliminating waste, replicating the results, and reflecting on what other implications might result from the changes.
