THIS WEEK'S TOPIC: What's behind the apparent improvement in property market sentiment? Would a turnaround at this point be sustainable?
Li Jun Executive Director Qingjian Realty (South Pacific) Group Pte Ltd
WE have been here for nearly a decade and what we look for in a market is sustainability. The gradual return of confidence and the longer cycle are healthier for the overall property market, based on our global experience. This recovery is happening even while the cooling measures are still largely in place. At the same time, the proportion of private property dwellers to HDB dwellers has increased, which indicates a more balanced interest from both homestayers and investors. Overall, it points to a less extreme environment for buyers and investors, and a much more fundamentally robust market.
