CHINA is in the early stage of a longer-term bull market, thanks to ongoing economic reforms and the liquidity boost from monetary policy easing, says Peter Sartori, head of Nikko Asset Management Asia ex-Japan equities.
Investors who remain on the sidelines will likely have to decide on how to position themselves in Chinese equities, as inclusion in major global indices is a matter of time, he adds.
Mr Sartori, an investment veteran, joined Nikko AM in 2013 when his firm Treasury Asia Asset Management (TAAM) was acquired by Nikko. TAAM was known for a fundamental, bottom-up approach to stockpicking, and this style was retained post-acquisition. Mr Sartori's team oversees some US$5 billion in assets.
