Melvin Ong has experienced both rewarding and trying moments in running a design studio
YOU know the high that you get when someone pats you on the back for a job well done? Designer Melvin Ong experienced that when he took part at the Tortona Design Week in Milan earlier this year.
"An Italian lady bought all three of my Monolith side tables on the spot and carried them home by hand," says Mr Ong, founder of Desinere design studio. "I think that was the most sales I had ever made in five minutes. For a young startup, it was very encouraging and a huge affirmation for me."
Desinere is slightly more than a year old, and is slowly but surely going places.
