A love for all things 'ugly'
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Ken Tan has furnished his home with items which some may think unattractive, but are highly unusual and eye-catching. By Tay Suan Chiang
CREATIVE director Ken Tan declares: "I don't like beautiful things. I like things that no one would like." Yet, his home, while not to everyone's taste, is well put together.
Home for Mr Tan and his wife, Jennifer Banse, is a two-bedroom, walk-up apartment off Upper Thomson Road.
"Jennifer has a knack for finding places like this," says Mr Tan, who is also a partner at furniture retailer Supplies & Company. "I'm hesitant about moving to a new place, but I liked the split level in the apartment as it reminded me of my childhood."
