NOWADAYS, when it's so easy to buy things off the shelf or online made by yet another big manufacturer, the sight of something made by hand is bound to attract attention and appreciation. At the Made in SG Market held over the weekend at the National Design Centre, the crowds who thronged the site could not get enough of these hand-made products, touching them and chatting with their makers. Sparking off hopes that the cottage industry has a welcome place in Singapore, BT Weekend speaks to a group of people who are driving this movement with their bare hands.
