AN economic recovery in China is driving H-shares and A-shares higher, but a large number of Singapore Exchange (SGX)-listed companies do business in China too. As consumption activity, trade and government spending rise, analysts said some of these Singapore stocks should start to benefit. But investors should also be aware of the supply chain risks that China companies face.

AXA Investment Managers' senior emerging Asia economist Aidan Yao said China's recovery is being driven by the release of pent-up demand - particularly in the purchase of property, passenger cars and home appliances - as well as fiscal stimulus. And the recovery is expected to continue, he said, as the country's budget plan leaves plenty of money to be disbursed in the rest of the year. (see amendment note)
